Big weekend for boys track & field
The Tar boys' track & field team competed at a pair of invitationals over the weekend with the result several outstanding performances. On Friday, the Tars finished 4th out of 14 schools at the Marysville Invitational. Senior Sebastian Tesch won the discus with a throw of 152 feet, 11 inches. Dante Bassham was Anchor Bay's top scorer, finishing 2nd in the 100 meters, 3rd in the 200 meters and running on the 4th place 400 meter relay along with Randy Caughell, Terry Zerpa and EJ Berry. Al Biland placed 2nd in the pole vault, Adam Thomas was 3rd in the 3,200 meter run and Caughell was 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. 
On Saturday, Al Biland took first in pole vault at the Dakota Invitational while Sebastian Tesch was first in discus with a winning throw of 156 feet, 5 inches, only 1 inch away from the school record. 
The Tars compete in the state regional meet this Friday at Warren Mott.
